This event is held to benefit the St. Paul School of Excellence.  "Where Excellence is the Expectation"


St. Paul School of Excellence Charter School is a non-profit 501 (c )(3) charter school for grades K-2 authorized and monitored by the St. Johns County School District. The mission of St. Paul School of Excellence is to prepare life-long learners who use determination and innovative thinking to be creative and curious about their world. Academic excellence is expected of the students, as well as a personal investment from their families.



St. Paul School of Excellence is proud to partner with the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Committee. The goal of the race is to begin a tradition of promoting activities that bring awareness to Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream and turning a day off into a day of doing, highlighted through family and community events such as the 5K race. The race will begin and end in the Lincolnville Area of St. Augustine, an area frequented by Dr. King during the 1960’s. Following the race, a community walk to the historic St. Augustine Downtown area will commence.

The Overall Male and Female winners will receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant and $100.


1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes will be awarded to both male and female runners in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & up.



Runner's race tickets will be pulled to win local restaurant gift certificates, movie passes, and various theme gift baskets.



Registrations will be accepted the morning of the race.


Race Day Registration and race packet pick up will begin at 7:00 am the day of the race. This will be a Chip timed Race. Your timing chip will be located on your bib number, which you will receive when you pick up your packet (simply wear your bib number to your front, visible, unaltered, and pinned at four corners).

Pre-race packet pick up is available at the St. Paul School of Excellence Office on Sunday, January 20, 2012, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The race will be professionally scored and timed at the start and finish by RaceSmith, Inc.  The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number.  Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered.  Results will be posted at the race and then online immediately following the race at www.RaceSmith.com
